An innovative engineer, research and design expert, and product launch specialist who provides guidance to companies throughout the full product development cycle. As the owner of 4S Med-Device Consulting, Shaher builds on his leadership roles in small and large medical device companies to offer a full range of expertise in bringing medical device products from concept to commercialization. Prior to starting 4S, Shaher was the Vice President of Engineering for Capital Equipment at the STERIS Infection Prevention Technologies business unit. He joined STERIS after serving first as the Director of R&D for the Interventional Spine unit and then as Senior Director of the Surgical business units at Stryker Instruments Division. Earlier, he was the V.P. of R&D for Zimmer Trauma. Shaher spent the first 14 years of his career at a small medical device company, OsteoMed, as a Project Engineer, Director of Operations, and finally as the VP of Product Development. Throughout his career, Shaher has developed expertise in markets and products in the CranioMaxilloFacial, Small Bone Orthopaedics, Large Bone Trauma, Interventional Spine, and Surgical Instrumentations sectors. He is listed as inventor on 10 US utility patents. In addition, Shaher has worked on and within standards and regulations related to medical device design controls; he has established new product development and project / portfolio and innovation practices and processes. Shaher earned an undergraduate degree in bioengineering from Arizona State University and holds an Executive MBA degree from the University of Texas at Dallas.
